What is AI Review?
AI Review is an automated assistant that evaluates learner submissions against the assignment instructions, course content, and defined success criteria. It suggests a resolution outcome: Done or Redo, and generates feedback for instructors to approve or edit. This feature ensures learners receive constructive, personalized guidance quickly.

How AI Review Works
In Assignment Settings, toggle Review with AI is automatically on by default for new assignments.
Instructors can customize:
Success Criteria – Defines what constitutes a successful submission.
Feedback Style – Defines tone, structure, and level of detail in feedback.
Go to the Settings of the Assignment, click Edit instructions next to Review with AI.
Tip: Default prompts are pre-filled for convenience but can be edited at any time.
Generate AI Review
Open the Assignments page on the left-side menu and open the submission in the In review state.
Click Generate AI Review. The AI will: analyze the submission content and attached files; compare the submission to the success criteria, suggest a status: Done or Redo and produce feedback in the defined style.
Note: AI Review will be hidden if the submission is empty or the assignment status changes from “In review.”
Editing AI Instructions after generation
Access the three-dot menu (⋮) in the AI Review section.
Choose Edit AI instructions or Regenerate.
Any changes to instructions require regeneration to apply to new submissions.

Always review AI-generated feedback before sending it to learners.
Customize Success Criteria and Feedback Style for each assignment.
Encourage learners to submit complete work with attachments to maximize AI Review accuracy.
Use Regenerate if instructions or submission status change.
Supported Inputs
AI Review can evaluate:
Text submissions
Uploaded documents and files such as PDF, DOCX, CSV, PPT, etc.
Links to external content, which AI will retrieve and analyze

Q: Can AI Review handle file submissions?
Yes. AI Review can process supported text files, documents, and other formats uploaded by learners. However, the formats of audio, video, and xml are not supported.
Q: Will learners know the feedback is AI-generated?
No. All feedback is written in a natural instructor tone and never indicates AI generates it.
Q: What should I do if AI Review returns an error?
Click Retry or contact support directly using the Contact Support button in the error modal.
