What is AI Practice?
AI Practice turns any real task into something learners can practice as many times as they want, with instant feedback instead of manual grading. Write the task once, and add your own grading criteria. From there, AI Practice checks every response, scores it from 0 to 100, and marks it up with specific feedback — so learners see exactly what to fix and try again.
It's a great fit for anything learners need to practice repeatedly: a follow-up email, a listing description, a sales pitch, peer feedback, patient instructions. Anywhere practice helps, and a human reviewer isn't always around.

How to create an AI Practice activity
1. Open your course in Edit mode and click Add new.
2. Select AI Practice from the interactive activity types.
3. Give the activity a clear title, then fill in the two fields under Setup.
Task description
This is what the learner needs to do. It's shown to them exactly as written, so be specific about format, tone, and length — the clearer the task, the fairer the grading feels.
Grading instructions for AI
This is what a great response looks like and what loses points. Learners never see this part, so be as specific as you like about what to include, what tone to expect, and what's a dealbreaker.
Tip: Leaving this empty is fine — AI Practice will still grade against your task description for relevance, completeness, and clarity. Adding grading instructions just gives you more control over what earns or loses points.
Reviewing learner attempts
Once learners complete the activity, open its Attempts tab to see their responses, scores, and AI feedback.
Click into any attempt to see the full response, score, and every inline comment. You'll see the same highlights learners see, plus a strikethrough on anything the AI flagged as worth cutting.
