How to Use AI Assessment in EducateMe

AI Assessment helps you verify whether learners truly understand the material by engaging them in an interactive conversation with AI.

Instead of answering static questions, learners respond to AI-generated questions that adapt based on their answers. This allows the system to evaluate their understanding, identify knowledge gaps, and provide a final score and feedback.

AI Assessment is especially useful for:

- Knowledge verification after training modules

- Readiness checks before certification

- Compliance validation

- Skill evaluation before moving to the next stage of training

While tools like quizzes test recall, AI Assessment evaluates understanding through conversation. View this guide to see how it works:

How to create an AI Assessment?

To add an AI Assessment to your course:

1. Go to your course program.

2. Click Add activity.

3. Select AI Assessment from the activity list.

Configure your assessment

Once the activity is created, you can configure how the assessment should work.

Complexity

Choose the level of difficulty for the AI questions:

Basic – quick validation of essential concepts

Standard – moderate assessment with short explanations

Advanced – deeper questions that require reasoning and understanding

Scope

Define which course content the AI should assess:

Previous content – everything learners completed before this activity

Current module – lessons within the same module

Entire course – all course materials

Custom – specific instructions or content you want the AI to evaluate

These settings help the AI generate relevant questions based on your course structure.

What do learners see?

When learners open the activity, they will:

1. See the assessment instructions.

2. Click Start assessment.

3. Begin an interactive chat with AI.

The AI will ask a series of questions related to the selected course material. Learners answer each question, and the AI adapts the next question based on their responses. This dynamic format helps better evaluate how well learners understand the concepts.

When the AI gathers enough information to evaluate the learner’s knowledge, the conversation ends automatically.

Learners will then receive:

- A final score

- Short feedback summarizing their performance

- Insights about strengths and knowledge gaps

Once completed, the activity is marked as finished.

Viewing learner attempts

Instructors can track all assessment attempts directly inside the activity.

To review attempts:

1. Open the AI Assessment activity.

2. Go to the Attempts tab.

This allows instructors to quickly monitor learner progress and identify areas where additional support may be needed.

Ending an assessment

Learners can end the assessment at any time by clicking End assessment.

If an assessment is terminated:

- The attempt will not be saved

- No score or feedback will be generated

A score is only produced after the AI completes the full evaluation.

Expert Tip

Place AI Assessments after key modules or major lessons to verify learner understanding before they continue with the course. This helps ensure learners are ready to apply the knowledge in later stages of training.

FAQ

Q: How many questions does the AI ask?

A: The number of questions depends on the assessment complexity and scope. The AI continues asking questions until it has enough information to evaluate the learner’s understanding.

Q: Does AI give feedback during the conversation?

A: Yes. After each learner answer, the AI briefly confirms or clarifies the response before asking the next question.
