L&D Reports give admins and instructors an AI-generated performance summary for every learner who completes a self-paced course. Instead of manually reviewing activity results, you get a ready-to-read report the moment a learner finishes, covering their overall score, strengths, and areas to improve.
What is an L&D Report?
An L&D Report is an AI-generated document created automatically when a learner completes a self-paced course. It provides a structured performance review based on the learner's activity results within the course.
Each report includes:
Overall score — a 0–100 score weighted across all assessed activities
Summary — a 1–2 sentence verdict on whether the learner is ready for the role the course prepares them for
Score breakdown — average scores per activity type (AI Roleplay, AI Assessment, Quiz)
Strengths — specific observations backed by evidence from transcripts and responses
Areas to improve — concrete gaps, including the knowledge-action gap when present (the learner knows the material but doesn't apply it under pressure)
Note: L&D Reports are visible to admins and instructors only. Learners cannot view their own report.
Reading a report
Click any row in the L&D Report table to open the full report in a side drawer.
The drawer includes:
Header — learner name, course name, completion date, and overall score
Summary — AI-written readiness verdict
Score breakdown — per activity type (AI Roleplay, AI Assessment, Quiz)
Strengths — evidence-backed observations of what the learner does well
Areas to improve — specific gaps with reference to moments from transcripts or responses
Sections with no content are hidden automatically.
Where to find L&D Reports
L&D Reports are available inside any self-paced course:
Open the course
Go to the Manage tab
Click Progress → L&D Report
The page shows a table of all generated reports, sorted by completion date (newest first). You can search by learner name or email.
Requirements
Reports are only generated when both conditions are met:
The course type is Self-paced
The course includes at least one of: AI Roleplay, AI Assessment, or Quiz
If a course has none of these activity types, no report will be generated even if the L&D Report toggle is enabled. The more activity types a course includes, the more accurate and comprehensive the report becomes.
Enabling and disabling L&D Reports
L&D Report generation is enabled by default for all self-paced courses.
To disable it:
Open the course and go to Manage → Settings
Find the Defaults section
Toggle L&D Report off
When the toggle is off, no new reports are generated on course completion. Previously generated reports remain accessible.
FAQ
Q: Who can see L&D Reports?
A: Admins and instructors only. Learners do not have access to their own reports.
Q: When is a report generated?
A: Automatically when a learner completes a self-paced course that includes at least one AI Roleplay, AI Assessment, or Quiz.
Q: What if my course only has one activity type?
A: A report will still be generated, but it will be limited to the evidence available. For example, a quiz-only course cannot assess real-world application. The report summary will reflect this limitation.
Q: Can I turn off L&D Reports for a specific course?
A: Yes. Go to course Settings → Defaults and toggle L&D Report off. Previously generated reports are not deleted.
Q: Can learners see their score breakdown?
A: No. The full report including score breakdown is only available to admins and instructors.
