Updated over 2 weeks ago

Recurring Courses in EducateMe allow you to automatically reset learner progress on a scheduled basis. This is ideal for mandatory training, compliance programs, certifications, or any content that must be completed repeatedly over time.

Please watch our tutorial to better understand how to deal with recurring courses:

How to create a recurring course?

  1. Go to Courses → Create course

  2. Choose Recurring Course

  3. Set the Initial Expiration Date (must be in the future)

  4. Choose the Expiration Timeframe (e.g., every 6 or 12 months)

  5. (Optional) Enable Deadline and define how long learners have to complete the course

Once saved, the course will automatically repeat according to your schedule.

Settings

Recurring course includes options of:

  • establishing the initial expiration date;

  • starting deadlines from the course’s initial expiration date;

  • settling expiration timeframe.

Additionally, the recurring course applies smart logic to count deadlines from assignment, invitation, or enrollment if learners join later, and triggers deadlines based on when the course is assigned or opened in libraries and learning paths.

How to track progress?

In order to check Learners’ progress, proceed to the Recurring course dashboard, and you can see the current progress, including completed activities, last training participation, and due dates.

Check a Learner's profile to see an individual's progress:

  1. Open a Dashboard.

  2. Click on the Learner’s profile picture or a name.

  3. Go to the Progress section.

Automation

Recurring courses in EducateMe automatically reset learner progress based on a set schedule (ideal for compliance or annual training).

With automation, learners’ progress is automatically reset after the course expiration date. This ensures that the recurring course stays up to date and learners complete the course again within each new cycle.

Simply set the initial expiration date and recurrence period, and the platform’s automation will do the rest. The deadlines and email reminders ensure learners stay on track without extra teamwork.

Expert Tip: Use recurring courses for compliance topics such as safety training, certifications, or annual refreshers.
Setting deadlines together with automation ensures learners remain on track while reducing administrative workload.
