What is Ask AI for learners?
Ask AI is a conversational AI assistant embedded in the EducateMe search bar. Learners can access it at any time by pressing ⌘ K (Mac) or Ctrl K (Windows), or by clicking "Search or Ask AI" at the top of the learning space.
Unlike a standard search, Ask AI understands natural language. Learners can type a question the way they would ask a colleague, and get a relevant, contextual response in seconds.
How to use Ask AI
Learners can use Ask AI in several ways:
Navigate the platform
Not sure where to find something? Ask AI can guide learners to the right course, activity, or information without manual browsing. For example:
"Show me courses about leadership"
"Where can I find my assignments?"
"What courses haven't I started yet?"
Ask questions about course content
Learners can ask Ask AI questions related to what they've been studying. The AI draws on the content of their enrolled courses to provide relevant answers — no need to scroll back through lessons or videos.
"What are the key principles covered in the compliance training?"
"Explain the sales technique from lesson 3"
Expert tip: The more specific the question, the better the answer. Encourage learners to include context, for example, the course name or topic when asking content-related questions.
Admin controls
By default, Ask AI is enabled for all learners. Admins can disable this feature at any time from Organization settings → Feature management.

This setting allows you to enable the Ask AI feature in search for learners.
Enable Ask AI for learners
When disabled, the AI-powered search prompt is hidden from the learner's search bar. Standard keyword search remains available.
Note: Only admins have access to the Feature management settings page.

Q: Do learners need to do anything to activate Ask AI?
No. Ask AI is available to all learners by default as soon as they open the search bar. No setup or activation is required on the learner's side.
Q: What content can Ask AI answer questions about?
Ask AI can answer questions based on the courses and content available within the learner's learning space. It works best when learners reference specific courses or topics in their question.
Q: Can Ask AI be turned off for specific learners only?
Currently, the Ask AI setting applies to all learners in the learning space. It cannot be toggled for individual users, only enabled or disabled globally via Feature management.
Q: Does Ask AI replace the standard search?
No. Ask AI enhances the search experience with AI-powered capabilities, but standard keyword search continues to work regardless of the Ask AI setting.
