to re-use materials in multiple courses
to offer Learners more references that are not linked to a precise lesson, webinar or assignment
to store all live session recordings
for Learners to upload their materials that are not linked to a precise assignment
to keep internal instructor/admin-only docs on the platform and many more.
Folders are automatically created for:

How to manage access to Files Library
Instructors can be given Edit access, and Learners from Courses can be provided with View access in the top right corner of Files Library page.
To provide View or Edit access to a specific folder, navigate to this folder first and then click on the Access Setting button in the top right corner of the page as shown above.
Important: Selecting multiple folders for changing access settings won't work. Open the folder first before changing its access settings.
Note:
View access allows Learners to download all files from the folder they're given access to.
By default all Learners of the cohort have View access to the folder automatically created for this cohort.
By default all Instructors assigned to the cohort have access to the folder automatically created for this cohort.
