Compliance training

Updated over a week ago

This step-by-step guide will walk you through how to set up, assign, and monitor compliance training across your company using EducateMe with built-in progress tracking, certificates, and automation.

Step 1: Create a course

Start by creating a course for your compliance training, for example, Workplace Safety or Data Protection Essentials.

  1. Go to the Courses page and click Create course.

  2. Add a course name, cover image, and description to give learners context.

  3. Build your course using:

    • Lessons: include text, videos, links, PDFs, or embeds (like Loom or Google Docs);

    • Quizzes: add short quizzes to check understanding of learning materials;

    • Certificates: set when the certificate should be issued to learners.

Check out the How to Create and Manage Courses article. Plus, please see our article How to create quizzes .

Step 2: Group courses into Course Libraries

To manage multiple required trainings across departments, create a dedicated Course Library.

  1. Go to the Course Libraries page and click Create library.

  2. Name your library (such as Security training for Billing team).

  3. Attach relevant courses to each library.

  4. Set deadlines if the content needs to be completed within a specific time frame.

You can create different libraries for different departments and enroll users automatically based on their tags.

Step 3: Enroll learners using tags

To ensure the right people see the right training, use tag-based enrollment.

  1. In the Course Library, click Share access.

  2. Select Custom rule and filter by user tags (e.g., “HR-team”, “remote-staff”, “compliance-required”, “US team”).

  3. Tag users on the Learners page for automated enrollment.

Once users are tagged, they’ll instantly get access to their assigned courses - no manual invites needed.

Learn more about tags in the How to use Tags article.

Step 4: Track progress using course dashboards

  1. Open any course and go to the Dashboard tab.

  2. See who has started, who completed, and who is falling behind.

  3. Export data for internal reporting or audits.

You can also click on a learner’s name to open their Learner Profile, where you’ll see:

  • All assigned courses and course libraries;

  • Completion progress of activities, learning paths, course libraries and assigned courses;

  • Deadlines;

  • Activity log.

Step 5: Review activity log for real-time updates

Use the Activity Log to stay updated on key events across your training programs:

  • New enrollments and invitations;

  • Course completions and resets;

  • Suspensions, deletion and more.

This gives you full visibility into how training is progressing across your organization and ensures compliance.
