Course Activity Access Types

Updated this week

Access type settings define how and when learners can engage with each activity in a course. You can choose between:

  • All activities are available

  • Current and previous modules' activities are available

  • Current and previous activities are available

This flexibility allows instructors to tailor the learning experience to suit different training formats and learner needs.

To adjust Access type settings, navigate to course General settings:

Default setting for all newly created courses is Current and previous activities are available.

Pro tip: Explore the differences between different activity types by referring to the Activity Types: Lesson, Event, Assignment, Form, Peer Review & Certificate article.

In Self-paced courses, the whole course module, along with its activities, can also be scheduled to open on a specific date/time to save time on scheduling each activity separately. Check out more in How to schedule modules.
