Program: How to Create Learning Content

In this article, you’ll learn how to create and organize course content in EducateMe, add activities like lessons, assignments, and quizzes, and manage visibility and learner engagement.

Updated this week

The program serves as the course syllabus, outlining structure and interactivity of the learning materials required for learners to progress.

See our activity types collection to understand the distinctions between activities in EducateMe.

Step 1: Create a program

  • Navigate to the Program tab on the course page.

  • The program may already include modules and activities if generated using AI or a template.

  • Acts as the roadmap for learners to follow throughout the course.

See details on course creation here.

Step 2: Add activities and organize them into modules

The program can consist of the following activities organized into modules:

  • lessons

  • events

  • assignments

  • quizzes

  • forms

  • peer review

  • certificates

  • SCORM

  • AI Roleplay

Click Add new to add new modules and/or activities to the program:

Step 3: Add content

Add the learning content for all activities in the program:

  • Use visuals like videos, images, and tables.

  • Embed external tools and content from Google tools, Figma, Notion page, etc.

  • Upload additional files.

Step 4: Create assignments

  1. Navigate to Add new

  2. Open the assignment tab to craft a task designed to assess learners' understanding of the material:

3. Write the Content for the Assignment or generate it with AI.

Consider adding Peer Review as a separate activity if you'd like Learners to do the peer review on their assignment submission instead of Instructors review.

Step 5: Create quizzes

  1. Navigate to Add new

  2. Open the Quiz tab to create an automatic/semi-automatic tool to assess Learners' material comprehension:

Step 6: Enable visibility for learners

Manage who can see a specific activity. Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab of the activity (such as Lesson, Quiz, Assignment).

  2. Under the Visibility section, choose one of the following options:

  • Visible (Default): The activity is accessible to all learners in the course.

  • Tags: Show the activity only to learners with specific tags. This is useful for tailoring content to different groups within the same course.

  • Hidden: The activity is completely hidden from all learners. Use this option while drafting or when the content isn’t ready to be shared yet.

Step 7: Improve content through feedback

Use the Feedback section of the Activity to enhance the learning material based on Learners’ feedback

Expert Tip: Leverage a mix of content types: lessons, quizzes, assignments, and external tools to cater to different learning styles. Combining interactive and visual elements increases engagement and helps learners retain information more effectively.
